Omamori | Moonstone×Sunstone(Aratamano)

------Introduction-------
Omamori is an amulet that is held in Japan when you want to make a wish or ward off bad luck. Omamori are sold at various places, including shrines and temples, and are held by people who entrust their wishes to them. Some people believe that when a charm is broken or lost, it is a sign that a wish will come true or that bad luck will be avoided.

Hiiragi's bracelet is a talisman that always contains one zelkova bead carved by a Buddhist sculptor to pray for the fulfillment of wishes and warding off evil spirits. Please enjoy the amulet that comes close to your wishes.

[Monthly Bracelet] January ARATAMANO
This year, we would like to trace each month through designs inspired by makurakotoba, classical Japanese poetic epithets.

A makurakotoba does not carry meaning on its own; it is a word that exists only to determine what follows.
It is a rhetorical device unique to the Japanese language—there is no equivalent technique in other languages.

What I love most is the way, in fixed-form poetry such as waka (5–7–5–7–7), the very first five syllables are freely “used up” simply to set the rhythm—to say, “Here we go. I’m about to recite.”
That sense of lift and momentum is thrilling.
Rhythm really is that important.

Aratama no

Aratama no is a makurakotoba associated with the New Year, evoking things that are newly born and continually returning.
It is traditionally followed by words that refer to time, such as year, month, or day.

The word aratama originally means an unpolished jewel.
Because of this, it suggests not a straight, linear passage of time, but a circular, recurring flow.
By honoring past efforts while also welcoming a fresh turn of fortune, one may approach the new year in a way that allows for a more fulfilling passage of time.

This bracelet is imagined as follows:
a foundation of pure, open space (moonstone),
from which a deep evergreen forest (Itoigawa jade) gives rise to a bright sun (sunstone),
allowing light (rutilated quartz) to spread across the earth (opal).

The ancient ritual triad of Japan—white, orange, and deep green—creates a distinctly Wa sensibility, subtly reminiscent of Himiko.
It pairs beautifully even with dark, mode-leaning, monochrome styling.
