kokoro tsukusamu / hito ni au yoshi mo ga mo
This poem was written by Ōtomo no Yakamochi, known as one of the compilers of the Manyōshū, Japan’s oldest anthology of poetry. It is an elegy composed in mourning for the deceased.
Its meaning can be understood as:
“Though I know that this world is impermanent, I still wish for the chance to meet someone to whom I can devote my whole heart.”
Even today, the feeling resonates deeply. Across centuries, the essence of what people long for remains the same.
This month’s bracelet was inspired by the coming season of cherry blossoms.
We created a gentle piece that layers the soft, fleeting impression of “utsusemi” with the delicate image of falling cherry blossom petals.
Cherry blossoms have a mysterious quality: they can appear joyful or quietly melancholic depending on the viewer’s state of mind.
Seen under cloudy skies, rain clouds, or in the stillness of night, their color can resemble the slightly violet pink of kunzite.
Under warm sunlight on a clear day, they glow like the brighter pink of sakura agate.
And perhaps the stone closest to the true color of cherry blossoms is rose quartz.
To express these shifting hues, we used three shades of pink, capturing the subtle changes of color within the blossoms.
Alongside them, tanzanite is included as a stone believed to help discern whether the connections that come into one’s life are truly meaningful.
Rutilated quartz is added to support the welcoming of new relationships and opportunities.
A bracelet that holds both the tenderness of impermanence and a quiet hope for what lies ahead.
A makurakotoba does not carry meaning on its own; it is a word that exists only to determine what follows.
It is a rhetorical device unique to the Japanese language—there is no equivalent technique in other languages.
ーーーExplanation of beadsーーー
The following explanations are given in the order of first appearance, clockwise from the wooden bead that serves as the base point. Beads that appear in more than one place are concentrated in the position of the first one.
Buddhist wooden beads
: purification, protection from evil, fulfillment of one's heart's desire
Rutilated quartz
: Improves your financial luck. Leads your work to success, and activates your body and mind.
Tanzanite
: Cultivates objectivity. Seeks out the essence.
Kunzite
: Finds true love.
Rose quartz
: Cultivates unconditional love. Enhances the luck of romance.
Agate
: Repairs and facilitates relationship. Blessed with a good match.

亡くなった人を悼むときに歌う挽歌で（この世は儚いものだと知ってはいるが、心を尽くしたくなる人に出会える機会が欲しい）という歌です。
現代の人にもそのまま重なる気持ちです、いつだって人が思うことは本質的には一緒なのでしょう。
もうすぐ桜の季節ということもあり「うつせみ」の持つ淡い儚い印象と桜の花びらを重ねたような優しい1本を。
桜は、見る人のコンディションによって明るくも寂しくも見える不思議な魅力があります。曇天や雨雲の下、人気のない夜に見る桜は、少し紫がかったクンツァイトのようなピンク。晴れて暖かい日の光の下では、桜瑪瑙のような明るいピンク。そして桜の色に本当に近いのは、ローズクオーツかもしれません。
色の移ろいを3種類のピンクで表現しながら、次に訪れる縁が良縁かを見極める石としてタンザナイト、新しい縁を迎える力としてルチルクオーツを添えて。
儚さと未来への期待を込めた1本。
ーーー珠解説ーーー
＊珠は仏師の木珠から、時計回りに初出順に下記説明記載。複数箇所で出てくる珠は最初のものの位置に集約。
仏師の木珠：浄化、厄除け、心願成就
